Listening to: ABBA - One Of Us

Murphy's Law
Wednesday 19th Dec
Had dinner with the guys... 10 of us - David Tsai, Chee Hong, Andy, Xiaoshan, Victor Ong, Weiyang, Hui Jie (his latest squeeze), Luke, Aylwin and moi... we spent the better part of an hour scouring Suntec for a place without a queue stretching to Raffles City... finally settled at Soup Restaurant and the bill blew us away (Post-script: clever Singtel sent a 15% off voucher for the restaurant one day AFTER we went. Figures)
I wasn't too happy that half of the gang couldn't make it... I guess that's why I keep on organising gatherings... in the vain hope (I believe) of trying to keep everybody within a phone call's distance... but at the rate things are regressing, all I'd have achieved is a bunch of people meeting once a year to say hi, and then cheerio.

Thursday 20th Dec
Went shopping for the mentoring BBQ... popped by Jeremy's place... went to Raffles City to catch 2 of my buddies' sign-language carolling performance - over-slept on the bus, ended up at Shenton Way terminal and had to rush there... met Nizamcame home, found mum had once again decided that any scrap of paper or something with WORDS written on it wasn't important, so dragged a dustbin of litter back into my room to rummage through. After she threw away a few phone numbers I had written down on scrap paper (save the earth what!) the last time she did this, I'm not taking any chances. It's not my fault I don't have space in my room!

Spent time calling the kids to remind them of the BBQ as well... I fear for them. Some of them don't even understand the simplest of sentences... I had to repeat my message to Jason thrice - and he still couldn't get it. What's going to happen to them when they enter the real world? As mentors (and future parents) I think we carry a burden to educate them for Life - and somehow I feel that we don't always carry out our duties... it's a human life for chrissakes...
