listening to: robbie williams - it's de-lovely

so i've finally started my job officially. the team i'm with has been pretty busy - have kept myself occupied by reading various work-related material, and attending a course or two. working hours-wise looks manageable - am slightly more hopeful i can take leave on 30th dec to attend HS' wedding in HK.

still, in spite of the relatively calm working hours - long by civil service standards but short otherwise - i've been feeling really tired when i reach home. after dinner out - usually with colleagues - i'd be hitting home 10 or 10ish.. so when i turn in around 12 i get less than 7 hours sleep. the problem is that i'm used to waking up later, in spite of short sleeping hours - i'm sure you all know that very well. so, the cds i bought from last saturday's budak concert remain unplayed, and so are my vcds - les triplettes de belleville, big fish, 20,30,40..

december's round the corner, and it's time to start christmas card shopping and writing, and gift buying again. have already planned and written down 90% of my to-send-to list, but as always i foresee myself sending out cards too late in december, spending a day or two just sitting around writing messages and greetings. hopefully i'd have that luxury then. i'd rather start early actually, but i haven't seen any card design nice enough to buy - although i'd rather design some myself, it might be a bit too difficult given the time constraints. present-wise - well, my credit card bill is really holding me back from getting some nice gifts i've seen out there. if i had the money you know that i'd book a plane and we'd be living it up in acapulco.. will have to prioritise my list and think of more creative ways to make people happy.

finally, i've reached the age where the sudden announcement of a spate of marriages in december doesn't faze me anymore. i received the latest - an email from a jc classmate - today, saying she 'had news...' ... i immediately guessed she was getting married. she was disappointed that i guessed so easily, but it was the first unbidden though that came to mine. people i knew from jc, army, uni, relatives... it's something in the air i believe.

-------
it's delightful,
it's delicious,
it's delectable,
it's delirious,
it's dilemma,
it's de-limit,
it's deluxe,
it's de-lovely!
