the most incredibly oppressive heat spell is raging out on the streets right now. it must be like 34 out, moderate humidity but no breeze whatsoever. i almost melted walking back home; at night, the trees contrive to block out all light from the nearby streetlamps giving it a dark moody feel, and in the day, they somehow manage to act as nonchalant and non-existent as possible. wonderful.

i came home, switched on the air-conditioning, and turned up the fan.

i'm due to leave in twenty minutes - just ten minutes after reaching home. what the heck do i wear in this weather??
