there is a life beyond the thesis, beyond assignments, beyond readings and work. there is a life beyond responsibility, to family, friends and state. there is no life beyond the self. what is self but dreams, hopes, passion. what is self but ideals, principles, no matter how idiosyncratic they might be.

the singapore film fest is back; have decided to catch at least 2 films so far: amazing life and parasite dolls. i remember a quiet time last year, in the darkness of the cinema, and the silent breathing of the one beside me, in stark contrast to the noises of those around me.
