Hurrah, it's 2003. Wonderful. Pass me the champagne and then I can get back to work. Oh dammit, I am at work. Even my engineer friends - i.e. those working as engineers - have taken the week off to recuperate and I've had to come back to dreary old NUS to do data entry. Exciting.
A lowdown on the events of the past few days:
New Year's Eve eve - met up with Edward, an old church friend of mine, for dinner. He's enlisting this coming Monday and he wanted to pass back my econs notes which he'd borrowed for his 'A's. I still wonder why he has to serve army though; he's went for about a dozen operations to fix his legs and arms as they weren't really okay. RIght after that I found out, in one heck of a coincidence, that a friend of mine had went nutty and was going to jump off some HDB in central Singapore... so rushed down and basically spent half the night there till his other friends and I got him safely home. Oh, and a bunch of mattars came to take down our IC numbers cos they thought we were rioting or something.
New Year's Eve - managed to drag my sorry ass out in the late afternoon to have an early dinner with previously said friend, then headed to City Hall to meet the rest of my gang for the countdown. To summarise: Esplanade, Fullerton, Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, happy new year, porridge at Chinatown (a yearly tradition), dai dee till the wee hours of the morning at friend's place in Chinatown (another yearly tradition), friend went drunk tried to use my legs as bolsters and attempt to sodomise some of us (not a yearly tradition).
New Year's Day - crashed at home; went grocery shopping in the evening, and classmate came down to my place to cook dinner for a number of us. Okayyy food I guess (well, she cooks like my mum, which is bad), though she over-estimated tremendously and cooked for a platoon of people.
Post-New Year's Day - applied for deferment of studies and am taking one semester off.
