There was a time, a time not so long ago, when all I needed to carry on was you - and you alone. Nothing else mattered. I picked you up when you fell down, sang to you in the silence, touched you when there seemed that there was no-one left in the world who cared, forgave you time and again for your weakness... until a faith I had in you was all but irrevocably shattered.

The irony of it all is deafening... for now it sometimes seems that you wouldn't forgive me, even this once, for being unable to soldier on, for not being able to say 'you, and you alone are sufficient for me'... when time and time again I gave you all that, and more besides... now, now all you want is me, and me alone, but I've lost that childlike innocence and trust and belief of my youth. Now I need a crutch, someone to help me shoulder burdens I have taken upon myself, of my own doing... I despised angst in my youth, and now I have become that object which I once scoffed at... the circle is now complete.
